With just a day left in this summer’s transfer window, teams all around Europe are looking to get their marquee deals done in time. One such club are Liverpool, who have been linked with a move for Brazilian sensation Luan.

According to Telegraph, The Reds are readying a £30million bid for the 23-year-old striker.

The news was further confirmed by Brazilian radio station Futebol da Gaucha, who claimed that the Gremio vice-president Alberto Guerra spoke with them last week and confirmed Liverpool’s bid for the player. Guerra confirmed that the offer from Liverpool is on the table and the club are considering the offer.

He said: "Every good player is targeted. If a proposal arrives, we will analyse.”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is facing a striker conundrum at Anfield this season after deciding to axe Mario Balotelli from his squad while Daniel Sturridge has failed to cement his place in the starting XI following his injury concerns and the lack of form.

That has forced Klopp to go with Roberto Firmino as his makeshift striker with Divock Origi being the option off the bench. Christian Benteke was sold by The Reds earlier this summer which has allowed Liverpool to launch a £30m bid for Luan.

The 23-year-old forward excelled for his country at the recently concluded Olympic games where he scored twice and led Brazil won the Gold medal. Stellar performances in Rio have assured Liverpool of the player’s calibre and have gone ahead with the bid, as likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are also chasing Luan’s signature.

Luan has managed to score 38 goals in 147 league appearances for Gremio since 2014 and is regarded as one of the best young players to have come out of South American football in recent years. Luan played 55 times last season and scored 17 times and helped Gremio finished third in Brasileiro Serie A.

Klopp wants to use Luan in a three-man front line with his fellow Brazilian forwards Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, with whom Luan has played previously.

However, Liverpool face a slight complication in completing Luan's transfer due to third-party involvement and Gremio owning just 70 percent of his economic rights.

Liverpool have less than 48 hours to complete this deal or else The Reds will have to wait until the January transfer window to get their hands on this highly rated Brazilian striker.
