Luis Suarez has turned into one of the best strikers in the world over the past few years. The Uruguayan always had ability, but has taken his game to a completely new level ever since his prolific season at Anfield.

The eccentric forward scored 31 goals in the 2013/14 season as Liverpool mounted a title charge. But the club agonizingly missed out on the title to manchester City as a dramatic collapse in the last few games ended their chances.

Kenny Dalglish purchased Suarez in 2011 for a fee reported to be £22 million. But the striker says it was Brendan Rodgers who really helped him find his feet at Liverpool.

Speaking to Liverpool Echo he said, “He is one of the best coaches in Europe and I am not surprised he is looking to get back into the game because it is a game he loves. I am glad he has taken his time since leaving Liverpool. He should only be looking at the top jobs, with the top clubs, who will be playing Champions League football.”

“If it was not for Brendan, then I know I would not be the same player that you see at Barcelona today. Such a big part of my education is down to him and his management. He is a very intelligent man. If the players at his next club listen to his words, they will become better players for sure.”

Suarez has only improved his game since joining Barcelona in the summer of 2014. He along with Lionel Messi and Neymar have become a deadly trio helping the side win trophy after trophy.

The 2015/16 season has been his best ever in terms of goals return. Suarez managed 40 goals in La Liga and claimed both the Pichichi and the European Golden boot. The striker has admitted he moved to Barcelona on the advice of Steven Gerrard.

Brendan Rodgers named new Celtic manager

Celtic have named Rodgers the new manager on a 12-month rolling contract. The Irishman was sacked by Liverpool in December. He has also managed Swansea City, Watford and replaces Ronny Deila at the Scottish club.

"I am absolutely delighted to be named Celtic manager," Rodgers, 43, said in a statement on Celtic's website (www.celticfc.net). This is genuinely a huge honour for me. I have followed Celtic all my life and to be given this fantastic opportunity and to be part of such a truly great football club is a dream come true.”
