Manchester United have released a list of players who will be taking part in the next Premier League season. The players have also received their squad numbers with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrik Mkhitaryan, and Eric Bailly all receiving theirs as well.
The list was released on their official twitter account with Zlatan Ibrahimovic bagging the no 9 jersey. The squad contains 38 players and Anthony Martial who was originally No 9 will now be wearing the No. 11 jersey for the 2016/17 season.
Zlatan was Jose’s second summer signing after Eric Bailly. The Swedish striker recently announced his retirement from international football with his country being knocked out from the Euros in the summer.
He was available on a free transfer and after a whole month of speculation, the man himself announced his next club on hi official Instagram account. Martial was one of the most expensive signings made by Van Gaal.
But the youngster delivered and as by far their best outfield player. He has decided to hand over his original jersey No to United’s new striker. Here is the full list of players:
Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s squad number is 22 with Eric Bailly getting number 3. There is still a lot of talk about Paul Pogba joining the rnaks as his move from Juventus edges ever closer. The rumours mill suggests that he will receive the No 6 jersey if makes the switch.
United play their second pre-season game tomorrow against Borussia Dortmund who also completed the signing of Mario Goetze. It will Mourinho first high orofle game and will certainly be a good test of his current squad strength.
Several of their players are still unavailable after the Euros. Wayne Rooney, Ibrahimovic and others will return soon after they get their well-deserved break. MOruinoh’s pre-season got off to a winning start after a win against Wigan.
Fans got a glimpse of how the team will shape under Mourinho against Wigan but they will surely strengthen when their remaining squad members return.
