Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto on Manchester United’s radar

Manchester United are pondering a move for Barcelona youngster Sergi Roberto – a player often dubbed as the ‘new Xavi’ – according to the Daily Mirror.

The 22 year old Roberto is a graduate from Barcelona’s youth academy. Nevertheless having made only one start in La Liga last season under the Argentine Coach Gerardo Martino, the young talent is reportedly quite unhappy with his prospects under the Catalan giants.

Roberto has been capped at numerous youth levels of Spanish football, including under-21. Albeit he has not yet made it to the senior side, he has been featured in a Barcelona jersey quite a number of times since making it to the squad in 2010.

With a prolific attacking trio of Messi-Neymar-Suarez and a strong midfield featuring the likes of Xavi, Ineasta and Sergio Busquets the Catalan giants might just let the Red Devils acquire of services of the talented 22 year old Roberto, who would arguably be a perfect fit for the central midfield position at Old Trafford.
