Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has suffered another injury set back, with a hamstring complaint set to keep the Belgian on the sidelines for The Red Devils clash with Arsenal on Wednesday, reports Goal.

The £27.5 million deadline day summer signing’s Old Trafford career has been blighted by injuries, with the 26 year-old failing to make a league appearance since the 1-0 defeat to his former side Everton in December.

While Robin van Persie has overcome his recent lay off, United officials now believe Fellaini will not be able to return for at least another fortnight.

Since his arrival Fellaini has suffered back and groin problems, before undergoing wrist surgery, but the latest setback is a huge blow as he only returned to full training a matter of weeks ago.

The Belgian has failed to live up to his billing at United, often looking out of his depth with games appearing to pass him by which is a long way from the powerful and aggressive performances he produced at Goodison Park.

David Moyes’ midfield has been below par this season and the addition of Fellaini has only served to further the criticism aimed at the Scot. After Sunday’s 2-2 draw with lowly Fulham, Wednesday’s fixture with Arsenal is crucial, as United’s hopes of claiming a Champions League place become slimmer by the week.
