Don’t take pictures of his car

Police are said to be investigating a case involving Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli where he allegedly “threatened” a woman for taking picture of his Ferrari in Wythenshawe, Manchester. The Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that the woman filed a report just after 3pm local time, and claimed that Balotelli had got “threateningly close” to her asking her not to photograph his car after he had parked it.

The Italian was said to be visiting his biological mother in Wythenshaw who had moved there in 2011 in an effort to reconnect with her son, then a Manchester City player, whom she had given up for adoption 22 years ago. According to the Manchester Evening News, the alleged victim later said

“I hadn’t even taken any pictures. He came and looked through the front window, he was wearing a black beanie hat and he gave me a bit of a fright.

“Then when I came to the door he was getting right near me and pointing in my face saying ‘you took pictures of my car’ and I kept telling him ‘I didn’t, I didn’t’.

“Then he said, ‘if you do anything with them, I’ll come back, I’m warning you’, which to me was a direct threat. I don’t care who he is I won’t be threatened like that by anyone, he’s a big guy and it was very frightening.”

The Police statement

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said:

“We are investigating a report of threatening behaviour following an incident in Pewsey Road, Wythenshawe.

“Officers will be speaking to all concerned in due course,”

Balotelli in trouble?

The 24-year-old’s biological mother had given him up for adoption when he was just 2 as he had a near-fatal intestinal problem which was growing worse because of the family’s financial condition. This incident comes after the player’s poor showing against Real Madrid at Anfield.

He has been heavily criticised for his low work rate and his goal drought since joining the Merseyside club from AC Milan for £16 million in the summer. He seems to be in further trouble after swapping shirts with opposition defender Pepe moments after the half-time whistle.
