Fellaini and Van Persie

Manchester United pair Robin Van Persie and Marouane Fellaini have returned to training. The duo have missed a considerable amount of games this season and manager David Moyes will be relieved to have them back.

Dutch striker Robin Van Persie had been in good form before getting injured, he had netted 7 goals and is United’s third highest goal getter after Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck.

However, the same cannot be said about Fellaini, who has struggled to assert himself as a United player.

Van Persie was working with PSV Eindhoven fitness coach Arno Philips in a bid to step-up his recovery which was reavealed by Goal. Fellaini underwent a wrist surgery towards the end of December.

The duo are yet to gain math fitness so it will be highly unlikely that they will feature against Sunderland in the Capital One Cup.
