Mizoram FA organise charity match for late Peter Biaksangzuala!

The Mizoram Football Association organised a charity match an Friday, December 19 night at the Lammual ground in Aizawl in memory of the late Peter Biaksangzuala, who passed away on October 19, 2014 due to an injury he suffered while he was celebrating a goal in a Mizoram Premier League match at the very same Lammual ground.The charity match was played between Aizawl FC, the recently crowned champions of the Mizoram Premier League and the selected Mizo star players who played in the name of Bethlehem Vengthlang FC, the club of Peter Biaksangzuala.Bethlehem Vengthlang FC won the match 1-0 with the only goal of the match being scored by T. Lalnunpuia from a penalty kick. T. Lalnunpuia is a former I-League player who played for Pailan Arrows and Rangdajied United FC and is also the cousin brother of late Peter.The star attraction of the match was Jeje Lalpekhlua, the Chennaiyin FC striker who made a cameo appearance in the second half and all his touches were cheered by the fully packed crowd.

Jeje, who is officially a Mohun Bagan player said after the match that he took an extra effort to be on time for the match after a hard fought Indian Super League season in which he scored four goals to take Chennaiyin FC to the top of the table; but they lost to Kerala Blasters in the semifinals.All the gate proceeds of Rs 174,130 was handed over to Peter's father, P. Vanlalchhuana by the president of the Mizoram Football Association Lal Thanzara.
