Real Madrid star Rodrygo has affirmed that he wants to see out his career at the Santiago Bernabeu and moved to laud Carlo Ancelotti.

Rodrygo, 23, spoke after Madrid's enthralling 3-2 win against Barcelona in El Clasico last night (April 21). He delved into his future plans with Los Blancos while also expressing his admiration for manager Ancelotti (via transfer expert Fabrizio Romano):

"I love this club so much. I hope my future stays here always. Ancelotti? He's like a father to me."

Rodrygo has flourished this season with 17 goals and eight assists in 45 games across competitions. The versatile frontman joined Real Madrid from Brazilian outfit Santos in July 2019 for €45 million.

The 22-cap Brazil international is on course to win his third La Liga title with Los Blancos. The 3-2 victory against Barca sent them 11 points clear of the Catalans with six games left.

Ancelotti has got the best out of Rodrygo throughout his second spell in charge at the Bernabeu. The forward has bagged 45 goals and 30 assists in 152 games under the Italian coach.

Rodrygo signed a new five-year deal with Real Madrid last November, keeping him tied to the La Liga giants until June 2028. If he had it his way, it would be a lifetime contract.

Rodrygo has sent a clear message about his future which has been the subject of speculation as of late. PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe is expected to arrive at Real Madrid this summer and may force the La Liga giants to wield the axe on a star attacker.

HITC reports that Liverpool have been monitoring Rodrygo's situation at the Bernabeu. They join the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea in keeping tabs on the Brazilian forward's situation.

However, the report suggests Madrid aren't interested in selling the Selecao star. His comments only further quash suggestions that he could depart the Spanish capital in the near future.

Liverpool could view Rodrygo as Mohamed Salah's long-term replacement. The Egyptian superstar's future is uncertain as he has a year left on his contract and has long been a Saudi Pro League target.

Rodrygo could suit Premier League football with his pace and agility that has wreaked havoc in La Liga. He played a key role in knocking Liverpool's title rivals Manchester City out of the UEFA Champions League. He bagged a goal in a 1-1 draw (4-4 aggregate) at the Etihad, leading to a 4-3 penalty shootout win in the quarterfinals.
