Football pundit Jeff Stelling has suggested that Andre Onana should have been sent off during Manchester United's FA Cup semifinal win over Coventry City. The pundit claimed the goalkeeper was wasting time towards the end of normal time while already on a booking.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Stelling pointed out how the goalkeeper went behind the goal to drink water after getting booked:

"By the way, just one thing that never gets mentioned, gets overlooked, I just want to say Andre Onana shouldn't have been on the field for the penalty shootout. He's been given a yellow card after 85 minutes by Rob Jones. And what does he do? He goes behind his goal, picks up his water bottle, takes a drink of water. If Rob Jones had had any bottle, he'd have shown him another yellow card immediately because the goalkeeper was taking the mickey out of the referee."

Manchester United were leading 3-2 at that point but conceded another goal in injury time as the match went into extra time. After both sides failed to add to their tally in added 30 minutes, the game went to a penalty shootout and the Red Devils prevailed.

Erik ten Hag still happy with Manchester United players

Erik ten Hag refused to criticize his players in public, saying they dominated the game for 75 minutes. He added that a lack of concentration saw them concede three goals, saying:

"We had control for 75 minutes and have to give Coventry a compliment for what they did in the last 15 minutes. We have to improve. We talk a lot about this. First, you have to put yourself in a winning position but then you have to take it over the line. In these moments we are making mistakes and not keeping our responsibilities."

VAR saved Manchester United after a Coventry City goal was ruled out in the 121st minute. They went on to win the penalty shootout 4-2.
