"We don't need to take sides" – Jamie Carragher weighs in on Liverpool row involving Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah

Liverpool great Jamie Carragher has offered his two cents on the recent pitch-side argument between Reds manager Jurgen Klopp and star forward Mohamed Salah.

Earlier this Saturday (April 27), the Reds' title challenge took a hit as they recorded a 2-2 Premier League draw against West Ham United at London Stadium. Despite a couple of questionable refereeing calls, the crucial talking point was Klopp's spat with the Egyptian star.

In the 79th minute of the contest, Salah seemingly reacted in a negative manner to something the former Borussia Dortmund boss said to him. He had to be held back by Darwin Nunez before entering the pitch.

In the aftermath of the Reds' draw, Salah provided a cryptic response when asked to opine on the incident. He replied (h/t James Pearce):

"If I speak today, there will be fire."

On Sunday (April 28), Carragher offered his take on the incident on X:

"Mo Salah [and] Jurgen Klopp are both [Liverpool] legends. We don't need to take sides! Salah is frustrated [and] angry with Jurgen that he's not playing [and] at the moment, [he] didn't want to fully embrace the boss. Jurgen understandably took exception."

Carragher, who represented Liverpool 737 times in his career, added:

"Mo was daft with his comment in the mixed zone but let [us] let them sort it out [and] enjoy the last few weeks together. They've been a massive help to each other in all that's been achieved at the club!"

Since Salah's arrival from AS Roma for close to £37 million in the summer of 2017, Klopp has guided Liverpool to eight trophies so far. He helped his club end the 30-year-long Premier League title drought while also lifting the Reds' sixth Champions League trophy.

West Ham United's David Moyes says he'll be glad to see Jurgen Klopp exit Liverpool

During a post-match presser, West Ham United manager David Moyes was asked to share his two cents on Jurgen Klopp's impending departure. He responded (h/t X/@RyanTaylorSport):

"I'll be glad he's gone. F****** too big, teeth are too bright. He's been immense for Liverpool. He's the daddy there and has been able to control a big football club. Hurry up and get away Jurgen!"

So far, the 56-year-old German has guided the Merseyside club to a whopping 302 wins, 99 draws, and 85 losses in 486 overall outings.

The Anfield side, on the other hand, are currently third in the Premier League table with 75 points from 35 games – two points off top place.
