CR7 – who could not know what this is? In fact, who could not recognize Cristiano Ronaldo? He is persistent, unyielding and uncompromising. Inspired by the Real Madrid striker, Nike launched the CR7 Collection on November 5, 2015. Nike claims that they sought inspiration from the volcanic island where Ronaldo grew up. The design is, simply put – brilliant.
The CR7 Collection comprises of Nike Mercurial Superfly, Nike Mercurial Vapor X and Nike Mercurial Proximo. Nike currently released FG (Firm Ground), SG (Soft Ground) and AG (Artificial Grass) versions of both Mercurial Superfly and Vapor X.
Nike Mercurial Superfly
Regarding the styling, the Superfly features black as the main color. Nike drew its inspiration from lava for the stunning graphic pattern on the upper. It features multiple hues of red, orange, and purple and is all set to make a mark in the footballing world. We see a black carbon fiber sole plate accompanied with electric red and white studs. We see the CR7 branding and the iconic swoosh on the heel area of the football boot. This football boot will definitely turn some heads while on the football pitch.
Technically, the new football boot is very similar to the regular Nike Mercurial Superfly. The football boots boast knitted upper along NikeSkin technology for a supreme first touch. Just like regular Mercurial Superfly, we see ACC for unmatched ball control in all weather conditions. We shall also see Nike’s revolutionary Dynamic Fit collar that offers a snug fit.

Nike Mercurial Vapor X
Mercurial Vapor’s styling is very similar to Mercurial Superfly’s styling. Like Mercurial Superfly, Vapor X features multiple shades of red, orange, and purple along with a base black color. Nike drew its inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo’s volcanic home island Madeira. Iconic Nike swoosh is present on the heel and the forefoot area.
Mercurial Vapor X feature a micro texture synthetic upper that is extremely lightweight. Along with this, we see a tongue-less design that offers a sock like fit. Nike's ACC (All Conditions Control) will ensure unparalleled ball control in all weather conditions. Dynamic Fit collar is absent in the Vapor X. Lightweight Nylon chassis plate offers ultimate grip. Basically, Vapor X is a low-cut version of Mercurial Superfly.
Nike Mercurial Vapor X retails at £180 i.e., around 18,000INR.
Along with the release of CR7 Savage Beauty football boots Collection, Nike also launched an exclusive collection of gear and equipment as part of the same collection. This collection houses footballs, bag packs, and T-shirts.
