No new contract for Lionel Messi

Barcelona v Paris St Germain - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final

Following a new and improved contract given by Real Madrid to Cristiano Ronaldo, speculation of Lionel Messi getting the same, have been rife.

However, Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has quelled all speculation and confirmed Lionel Messi does not need a new contract, after having signed an improved one just six months back.

He said: “I see no reason to improve the contract again of a player who six months ago just had it improved. While Sandro Rosell is president at the club, there is zero chance of selling him,”

The Argentine is currently sidelined with a thigh injury and will return to action only after the new year.
