Gary Neville has rubbed salt in the wounds of Liverpool players and fans after the club missed out on winning the Premier League title despite beating Newcastle 2-1 at Anfield earlier on today.

The Man United legend, now a pundit with Sky Sports, said that you can’t compare winning a Premier League title to anything… even your kids.

“It’s the greatest moment of your life [winning the Premier League]. People will mention kids, but everyone has kids. Not everyone wins a Premier League title.” said Neville.

Neville, who won eight Premier League titles during his Man United career, was speaking in reaction to Liverpool’s title collapse that handed Man City their second Premier League crown.

After winning a club record 11 Premier League games in a row, Liverpool lost to Chelsea before all-but handing the title to Man City after letting a three-goal lead slip against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Steven Gerrard stated that he believes the current Liverpool squad will win a Premier League title in the near future, but whether he will be still playing is another matter.
