Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was announced as the permanent manager of Manchester United yesterday on a 3-year contract. First of all, the Norwegian completely deserves it as he has been a breath of fresh air at Old Trafford and with him coming back, it just feels like the old days at Manchester United.

Every manager who took over United after Sir Alex Ferguson was a failure and two of them were one of the best managers in world football at that time. What can be pointed out is that David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, and Jose Mourinho just didn't get the culture and what Manchester United is all about.

David was all about transfer failures and how United were close to signing Gareth Bale and etc. He always gave excuses for every loss that Manchester United faced under his reign. On the other hand, Solskjaer after the losses to Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal stated that there is no excuse for a loss at a club like the Red Devils.

Van Gaal seriously didn't get Manchester United as one can see from his press conferences. Van Gaal gave Manchester United Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard, but his cockiness proved to be his downfall at Old Trafford. Compare this to Solskjaer, the Norwegian is such a down to Earth guy and his simplicity just astounds sometimes.

Last but not least, Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese in his tenure at Old Trafford tried everything to glorify himself rather than the club. Mourinho always made things about himself and was always negative in his press conferences, and he could never get the thing that Solskjaer gets so easily, and that is that Manchester United is bigger than any individual, be it the manager or a player. Solskjaer is always positive in his press conferences and he always believes that his team can do anything on a given day.

Solskjaer is the manager of Manchester United, but he is also a Red Devil's fan and that is what makes him different from all other managerial appointments. Solskjaer knows the club inside out and he has been a part of this clubs' incredible history, and he knows what it takes to be the best in the world.

The Norwegian in his first press conference as a permanent Manchester United manager stated that he wants his team to be one of the hardest working teams in the world and if a player is inconsistent in his performances, there is no place for him at Manchester United.

Solskjaer knows what this club is all about. It is about playing attacking and entertaining football, giving youth a chance and most importantly Manchester United is all about winning and not giving excuses for a loss. That is the Manchester United way and the Norwegian is the only one that seems to understand it better than all the other managers who came in and failed at Old Trafford during the past few years.
