40-yard goal
Sejad Salihovic scored a 40-yard free-kick on his debut

There would hardly be a better way to make a debut than hitting an astonishing 40-yard-free-kick. That is exactly what Sejad Salihovic did when he made his debut for Guizhou Renhe which is a club in the Chinese Super League.

One would have thought that Salihovic would try to find one of his team-mates as he was standing behind a free-kick 40-yards out. But instead, the midfielder decides to go in for an audacious direct shot at the goal.

The shot caught everyone including the opposition goalkeeper off-guard as it hits the under-side of the cross-bar before landing inside the goal and bouncing out. The defender tries to make a clearance thinking that the ball did not cross the line, but it is too late as Salihovic starts celebrating. His team-mates mob him as they celebrate his first goal for the club.

What makes the goal more impressive is that the Bosnian midfielder attempts the kick only after nine minutes into the match. Although, it was not going to be a winning start for Salihovic for his new club as his team went down 2-1 against Changchun Yatai.

But the stellar debut made by the Bosnian will not be forgotten easily by the Renhe supporters.
