Real Madrid sign Javier Hernandez on loan from Manchester United

Javier Hernandez joins Real Madrid on a season long loan deal

Real Madrid have secured the services of Javier Hernandez from Manchester United after the striker agreed to join the La Liga outfit on a season-long loan deal.

Earlier, the 26-year-old successfully passed his medical at the capital club of Spain ahead of completing his move to the Santiago Bernabeu on the deadline day for a loan fee reported to be £1.5 million.

Chicharito, who failed to impress Manchester United’s new manager Louis Van Gaal, has been viewed as a backup replacement for Madrid’s no.1 striker Karim Benzema. In the last couple of seasons, the Mexican striker has gradually fallen out of favour at the Old Trafford, failing to establish himself as a starter in the Red Devils squad.

With Madrid’s top priority Radamel Falcao completing a surprising loan move to Manchester United, Los Blancos turned their attention to the Mexican striker who has a reputation for being a fine poacher.

Since the departure of Alvaro Morata to Juventus, Madrid have been on the lookout for a decent finisher who could fit into the rotational policy of Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and take on the role of a super-sub.

With Jese Rodriguez still recovering from his long-term injury and Hernandez deemed surplus to requirements for Van Gaal, this move adds strength to the bench and provides more options for Ancelotti.
