Ending all the speculations over his signings for the last season’s I-League champion Dempo SC, former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur striker Rohan Ricketts has finally signed for the defending champion for the upcoming 2012-13 season.
After the news of his signing for the Dempo was released by The Times of India all the fans were eagerly waiting for his decision. He has practiced for a few days with the Dempo team and also played an 8-a-side practice match. Though he himself was not sure at that time if he will sign for the club or not, but seeing his interest for the Goans, it was predicted that he wants to take the challenge of playing in India.
Ricketts, who has a glorious career for the Gunners and the Spurs, also represented his country, England in some occasions. After ending his carrier for Tottenham, he visited many countries like Canada, Hungary, Germany etc and finally now in India. No doubt that his huge experience on European football will certainly bring some improvements for the Goan, as well as for the Indian Football.
