Ronaldo's ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk comes out with controversial comments on their relationship

Shayk and Ronaldo were involved in an uneasy breakup earlier this year

Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo’s on-pitch troubles have been compounded by his off-pitch issues. The Portuguese was largely ineffective in his team’s 1-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao this weekend which saw his team Real Madrid concede the top spot in the La Liga to arch rivals Barcelona.

Now the footballer’s ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk has come out with what seems like indications of an uneasy relationship with the Madrid star.

Ronaldo and Shayk split up earlier this year amid rumours of alleged infidelities in the relationship. Post the split Shayk had raised some eyebrows saying, “I love honest men and I love a man who is loyal to women.”

In a recent interview with Spanish magazine Hola, the 29-year-model came out with a few controversial comments which appeared to be aimed at her former partner.

She said, “My ideal man is faithful, honest and a gentleman who knows how to treat women. I don’t believe in men who make us feel unhappy, because they’re boys not men.”

“I thought I had once found the ideal man but it didn’t turn out that way. I think a woman feels ugly when she’s got the wrong man at her side. I’ve felt ugly and insecure,” she added.

“Relationships are hard so you have to know what type of man you want by your side and what their values are, what is important in his life. If you stay with someone it’s because you’re walking in the same direction and you’re both looking for the same thing.”

“Both should share the same concept of what a relationship means and the same energy to believe in a monogamous relationship,” she concluded.
