Brendan Rodgers has been trying to compensate for the skill and speed of the now departed Luis Suarez. In his hunt for adding creativity and goal-scoring ability in his side, the former Swansea manager is said to be looking at Real Madrid’s Spainsh mid-fielder Isco, according to reports.

The Spanish youngster burst onto the scene for Los Blancos at the start of last season shortly after signing from Malaga. However, he was unable to continue his flying form as the season wore on and saw himself benched in favour of Luka Modric and Sami Khedira by Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian has gone out and strengthened his team further this season by bringing in German World Cup winner Toni Kroos. It should be no surprise if the ex-Bayern Munich man gets slotted in as a fixture in the starting line-up after his series of sterling performances in Brazil.

With the likes of James Rodriguez also linked with Real, the future of Isco at the Bernabéu seems to be in jeopardy.

With fresh funds now available from the Suarez sale, Liverpool look to be in a position to put in a formidable bid for the Spanish youngster. The Spaniard would certainly be an upgrade in the middle of the park at Anfield.

He would further add depth to the squad at for the Kopites and represent an investment for the future with Steven Gerrard moving into the dusk of his career.

It would also be a statement signing from Liverpool, who have already added Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic to their squad.
