Manchester United look set for a major summer shake-up with Nemanja Vidic’s plans to leave the club due to be just the start of a clear out of current playing staff, according to a special report by Goal.

Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra have also been linked with moves away from the club when their contracts expire at the end of the season, but they could be just a small part of a clear out of senior staff with David Moyes keen on stamping his authority and building his own team.

Anderson has already left United on loan, having joined Fiorentina on a temporary basis, and he will also be ushered out of the club permanently in the summer having failed to impress during his seven years at Old Trafford.

Nani, Alex Buttner, Rafael and Shinji Kagawa will also be informed to search for new employers as Moyes looks to clear room in order to bring in his own targets, while Ryan Giggs is expected to retire at the conclusion of the season.

Rafael has been singled out as a weak link in his first choice XI, while Nani, Buttner and Kagawa are considered expensive squad players currently, not fitting into the desired system Moyes wishes to implement.

Luke Shaw is Moyes’ number one target to replace Evra at left back and pursuit of his signature will be part of a six-month strategy in which they identify and make their moves for a number of players.

Juan Mata has already joined in January for a £37 million and Moyes will be handed a further £150m to formulate his squad with a number of players already singled out to improve his options.

In addition to Shaw, Nicholas Otamendi, Ezequiel Garay, Davide Astori, Seamus Coleman and Eliaquim Mangala have all been watched by the Manchester United scouting team and they have been instructed to find further targets as part of a major shake up at Old Trafford.
