Manchester United are planning to launch a £50 million bid to sign highly rated Southampton pair Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw in the summer, report TalkSPORT.

Red Devils chief David Moyes has endured a disastrous debut campaign in the Premier League and is planing a dramatic overhaul of the squad he inherited from Sir Alex Ferguson.

United have been stifled by a lack of creativity within their midfield ranks and Lallana, 25, has produced a string of impressive performance for the Saints, with nine goals and five assists this season.

The midfielder is now widely expected to earn a place in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad and has been earmarked as a top target by Moyes.

Meanwhile, youngster Luke Shaw has also impressed for Mauricio Pochettino’s side throughout the campaign and has attracted admiring glances from a string of Premier League clubs.

A lifelong Chelsea fan, the full-back has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but United are confident they can lure him to Old Trafford with sizeable double offer for both players.

However, if both Saints stars perform well in Brazil should they be named as a part of Hodgson’s set-up, their price could increase dramatically.

Jordan Henderson (57) is the only Englishman that has created more chances than Adam Lallana (56) in the Premier League this season.
