Rumour: Manchester United seek third party's help to conduct search for new manager

Sir Alex Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson will have no say in Moyes’ replacement

According to our sources, Manchester United are looking into the possibility of bringing in a “third party” to help them find a new manager for the club.

Manchester United sacked David Moyes today after a disappointing season that saw them knocked out of all cup competitions and with no chance of finishing in the top four. The Red Devils will not be in the Champions League next season – the first time since 1995.

It is understood that the club is willing to seek outside help to conduct a search for Moyes’ replacement.

It is also learnt that Sir Alex Ferguson will have no inputs on the replacement.

Ryan Giggs has been named the interim manager for the rest of the season – i.e. four League games.

There were reports that Louis van Gaal would take over in the summer after the World Cup while Jurgen Klopp quashed reports of wanting to take over the Old Trafford hot seat.
