According to the Mirror, Queens Park Rangers are preparing an audacious bid to sign Jermain Defoe on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Englishman has reportedly completed a move to Canada, and is set to be unveiled on Monday. The striker has joined Toronto in a bumper 4-year deal, which will see him earn £90,000-a-week.

However, the MLS does not kick into gear till March, which has prompted manager Harry Redknapp into considering a move for the 31-year.

The ambitious move might pay off in QPR’s bid to return to the Premier League, as Defoe’s goals could be a major driving force in the club achieving their primary target.

With star striker Loic Remy destined to leave the Championship club on a permanent transfer this winter, Harry Redknapp and Jermain Defoe might well be on their way to yet another reunion.
