Various sources are reporting that Arsenal have submitted an €8m bid in recent weeks for Alexandre Pato which was subsequently rejected by Corinthians. Corinthians are apparently holding out for a sum closer to €12m as they want to recoup as much as possible from Pato’s sale. This comes as a welcome news for Arsenal fans worldwide given the lack of depth in the Striker department. Alexander Pato has been touted as a possible transfer target for Arsenal for quite a while now.
Since returning to Brazil, Pato has been in indifferent form scoring just 9 times in 29 matches in all competitions. Despite the shaky form, Arsenal’s manager believes that he can bring back the old Pato of Rossoneri,who when not injured was a lethal striker. The addition of Pato would be a welcome competition in the striking department at Arsenal which currently has only one established striker in Olivier Giroud.
