Stephanie Roche says Cristiano Ronaldo uses more beauty products than her

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo

Ireland women team’s footballing star Stephanie Roche thinks that Cristiano Ronaldo uses more beauty products than she does, also stating that she is not as proud as the Real Madrid forward.

Roche, who became the first female ever to be nominated for the Puskas award, believes that Ronaldo uses more grooming products than her. "I don't think I am vain as Ronaldo," she said. "He has more beauty products than me in his toilet bag!"

Roche also talked about her nomination for the best goal award, having been included on the shortlist alongside the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, James Rodriguez and Diego Costa.

"I've scored a lot of goals, but honestly, I think this was probably the most beautiful I've ever scored. I heard rumors that I might be nominated for the Puskas Award, but never thought would be," she added.

This remark from Roche against Ronaldo came only hours after Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer took a dig at the Portuguese forward. The World Cup winner who is one of the genuine contenders for the Ballon d’Or poked fun at Ronaldo, stating, "I'm a sportsman, not an ambassador for a brand, beyond being Adidas' first goalkeeper. I'm not some guy who poses in his underpants.”

"I don't like the red carpet. I prefer the green turf. I feel better on the pitch trying to be the best I can be," he added.

Ronaldo is one of the favourites to lift his third Ballon d’Or award in January after an incredible year for his club on an individual level. Although the Blancos star had a bleak World Cup with his national side, he has made an incredible start to the new season with 25 goals in all competitions and is well ahead of any other player.
