Alvaro Morata: North London calling

Tottenham Hotspur are set to beat their rivals, Arsenal, to the signing of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata as the Gunners have taken too long to decide on the Spaniard, according to the Express.

Arsenal have been reported to have had a long-running interest in Morata, who is not needed at Real Madrid due to the competition and quality ahead of him in his position.

However, it now seems that, due to Arsenal’s lazy approach and slow decision-making over whether to sign Morata, Spurs have made a move and could sign him this summer.

The Spaniard has been wanting out of Madrid for a number of months after just three starts in La Liga last season.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was thought to be making a move in the January transfer window to bring Morata to the Premier League but decided against it at the same point that Real Madrid blocked it.

It was thought that the Frenchman would return for the Spaniard this summer but it seems that his closest rivals, Spurs will make the move to sign Morata.

Spurs are set to let Roberto Soldado leave this summer after a terrible season that saw him score twice from open play in the Premier League.
