FC Anzhi Makhachkala v FC Alania Vladikavkaz - Russian Premier League

According to the latest reports, Liverpool are the clear favorites to sign Anzhi Makhachkala striker Lacina Traore in the January transfer window after the forward was told to leave by the Russian club.

Daily Mail reported that, due to financial troubles, Anzhi management is planning to sell Troare in the January window. Anzhi have already sold Willian and Samuel Eto’o to Chelsea and now, they are ready to lose yet an another star in order to stabilize their financial system.

Liverpool are one of the long-term admirers of 6ft 8in striker’s talents. They tried to sign him in Summer but the negotiations broke down during the closing stages of the deal.

Adding more fuel to this saga, Traore’s agent, Dmitry Selyuk also hinted that his client could leave Russia in the Winter window.

He said (source: Metro),

“If a good offer arrives that suits us then Lacina is free to leave in January,”

“The demand for him is huge in Russia and especially in Europe.”

Lacina Troare who was signed for a fee of £15m, could leave Anzhi for much cheaper price due to their financial problems. Traore had scored 13 goals in 27 games in Anzhi colors.
