La Liga

FC Barcelona eyeing Mesut Ozil

A report in Mundo Deportivo suggests that the Catalans are keeping tabs on Arsenal's soon to be free agent Mesut Ozil. FC Barcelona are looking to sign a playmaker next summer and have been linked with the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Christian Eriksen.

The current La Liga leaders know that any of the two players will cost them over €100 million and may hence go for the cheapest option in Mesut Ozil. The 29-year-old will be free to talk to other clubs from January and may accept Barcelona's advances despite his Real Madrid connection.

Real Betis confident about Jack Wilshere

The Arsenal midfielder is in the last year of his contract and does not want to commit before assurances over playing time. Real Betis have for long been linked with the 25-year-old and seem confident of landing the dynamic midfielder.

Real Betis are eighth in La Liga currently and according to the Sun, are looking to sign Wilshere on a cut-price deal in January. The through and through Arsenal player is open for a move to Spain as long as it guarantees him regular minutes on the field.

Juventus and Inter Milan to battle it out for Jose Gimenez

Calciomercato understands that the two giants of Italian football are set to go head to head in the pursuit of Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez. The centre-back will be a free agent after the end of the season and is currently mulling over the options at his disposal.

Inter Milan want Gimenez to be their long-term fix for the ageing Miranda whereas Juventus are looking for a young centre back to partner Daniele Rugani. But alternatively, the Spanish media has claimed that Gimenez has signed a new two year deal with the Colchoneros keeping him at the club until 2020.

Milan Skriniar dismisses FC Barcelona rumours

Inter Milan centre-back, Milan Skriniar has been one of the best defenders in Europe this season and has understandably garnered interest from the top teams of the continent. FC Barcelona were rumoured to be monitoring Skriniar at the San Siro but the defender has rejected those claims, declaring his loyalty to the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to Mediaset Premium, Skriniar said, "I'm not interested in the market, I'm Inter and my goal is to play for Inter. I want to win it, I do not care about Barcelona."

The German champions are looking for a striker and a number of striking options are being linked with them. Today it is the turn of Hoffenheim forward, Sandro Wagner. But the interest in the German striker seems real as Hoffenheim boss, Julian Nagelsmann has admitted the possibility of Wagner returning to his former club.

Nagelsmann revealed, “We’ve known about Bayern’s interest in Sandro for a while. It isn’t anything new for us. But as its the case with any one of our players, we only announce something when there is something to announce."

Wagner's family lives in Munich which gives this report more weight.

Arsenal in talks with Borussia Dortmund's chief scout

ESPN has reported that the Gunners are in advanced talks with Dortmund's chief scout - Sven Mislintat. It is Mislintat who is credited with bringing the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele among others to the Bundesliga side.

The 45-year-old is also on the radar of Bayern Munich who wants him as their technical director. But it is claimed that Arsenal are favourites to land Mislintat who joined Borussia Dortmund in 2009 and will now replace Arsenal's chief scout, Steve Rowley.

Liverpool given the green light to sign Virgil Van Dijk

Jurgen Klopp has finally been given the nod to go ahead by Southampton to land long-term target, Virgil Van Dijk. The Dutch defender was Liverpool's prime target last summer but what happened thereafter is well documented.

The Daily Mirror has now reported that the Saints' hierarchy are now keen on offloading Van Dijk who has had an average start to the season. But Liverpool will need to shell out £70 million - a record sum for a centre-back if they are to sign Klopp's top defensive target.

Manchester United want Chelsea's David Luiz

Jose Mourinho is eyeing a reunion with his former Chelsea star, David Luiz next summer. United are expected to be in the market for a central defender after the end of the season with Mourinho eyeing a ball playing defender in the form of David Luiz.

Luiz has reportedly fallen out of favour with Antonio Conte who had kept him out of the squad for the game against the Red Devils. The Daily Star claims that Chelsea are open to selling the Brazilian but want to recoup £34 million that they paid for his services to PSG.
