Sameehg Doutie opened the scoring for the hosts with a stunning volley in the 6th minute, but FC Goa were unable to score in the first half despite dominating. Stephen Pearson and Sanjay Balmuchu were sent off in the 52nd and 60th minute respectively, leaving both sides down to 10 men. Borja handled the ball in the box in the 76th minute to concede a penalty, which Jofre duly converted, earning Goa their first points of the season.
