U19 I-League: DSK Shivajians see off stern PIFA Sports 3-0

9th January 2015, Mumbai: DSK Shivajians won their fifth match in the Under 19 I-League, maintaining their 100% record in the tournament, as they defeated PIFA Sports 3-0 at Cooperage, Mumbai. Lallianzuala was on form for the visitors as he scored his second hat-trick of the tournament.

DSK Shivajians enjoyed most of the possession in the opening exchanges of the match. They also came close to scoring in the opening 12 minutes but PIFA keeper made the crucial saves to keep the score at 0-0.

In the 19th minute, Lallianzuala picked up a beautiful ball from Mawihmingthang in the box and slotted it home through the keeper’s leg to break the deadlock.

Two minutes before half time, Lallianzuala found the back of the net again. However, the goal was adjudged to be offside. After dominating for most of the play, DSK Shivajians went into the dressing room at half-time with a valuable lead.

A couple of minutes into the second half, Mawihmingthang found Lallianzuala with a sublime pass and the latter wrong-sided the keeper to poke the ball home to double DSK Shivajians’ lead.

Second half was mostly a one-sided affair as PIFA seemed content with keeping the play in their half. In the 83rd minute, Joel found Lallianzuala with a composed pass, who produced a stunning finish to complete his hat-trick.

DSK Shivajians have now opened a five-point lead at the top of the Maharashtra Zone Under 19 I-League table with three league matches yet to be played.
