UEFA officials will visit Crimea in January-February

A delegation from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) will pay an official visit to the Crimea in January-February, the head of the peninsula's football union has said.

"In January-February we expect a delegation from the UEFA to arrive in Crimea," Yuri Vetokha said On Saturday, reports Tass.

UEFA is searching for a replacement of Georgian manager David Petriashvili, who was killed in a road accident in Tbilisi on December 21.

Petriashvili oversaw the Crimean Football Union in the UEFA.

"He knew our football and he spoke Russian perfectly, and he knew our mentality, but unfortunately, he is dead," Vetokha said.

The Crimean Football Union has the UEFA's special status.

In summer-autumn, the union held the first part of the Premier League championship in Crimea. Eight teams from eight towns of Crimea took part in it. During this period, at total of rounds of the championship (56 games) were held.
