Iniesta James Bond
The name’s Iniesta, Andres Iniesta

One of the classiest players to have graced the game of football has been Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta. His charm seems to extend off the pitch as he earned the chance to be play James Bond for a promo of the upcoming film Spectre set to be released in November 2015.

The Spanish national appeared in the video alongside two of his compatriots, both sportspersons from different fields - Tennis player David Ferrer and Basketball star Ricky Rubio. The trio participated in the promo in which they imitate the classy James Bond intro with a slight touch of their respective sports.

It’s a short video that starts off with all three players showing off their skills and the Spanish caption reads “There are many heroes”. It then concludes with Daniel Craig walking into the frame accompanied by a line that goes “but there is only one Bond”, hence completing the aforementioned line.

The promo showcases all three athletes suavely dressed in suits akin to James Bond’s usual attire while performing the stunts. The making of the video, shows the players taking multiple attempts at their shots to get the right effect and often comically missing the ball.

The video is immediately followed by a making of the promo video during which Andres Iniesta among others interacts with the camera, the midfielder says “My favourite Bond is Daniel Craig”. The Spaniard could easily be construed as the Bond of football with his smooth style of play and tendency to shine on big stages, displaying that very attribute during the recent Champions League final against Juventus when he was named the man of the match.

Besides, the man’s class would leave James Bond green with envy.
