Video: TV commentator can't control his laughter after Brazilian player fouls himself

What is every footballer’s worst nightmare? Getting nutmegged by an opponent before he scores? A back-pass that ends up in the back of the net?

Ask Diego Pereira Correa and he will probably look back at this incident on the pitch. The Brazilian left-back was left embarrassed during a game between Clube de Regatas Brasil and arch rivals Centro Sportivo Alagoano in a Campeonato Alagoano game on Sunday.

Just when Diego was taking the ball up the left flank into CSA’s half, he suddenly lost his footing and his balance before tumbling to the turf – under absolutely no pressure from an opposing player.

A closer look at the replay seems to suggest that he was tackled by a ghost as he touched the ball and seemed to launch himself into the air before landing hard and somersaulting before lying still as CSA retrieved the ball and mounted an attack of their own – leaving Diego to lie on the pitch and nurse his ego which was probably bruised more than his body.

The commentator covering the game absolutely lost it and initially let out a girlish squeal before it became an incredibly infectious guffaw. Instead of keeping his composure describing what had just happened in a professional manner, he took the opportunity to have a good laugh before recovering.

We don’t blame him!
