Video: Cristiano Ronaldo offers a chance for a fan to attend El Clasico for a charitable cause

Ronaldo Competition Charity El Clasico

Cristiano Ronaldo is had brought football and charity together on many an occasion, but this new spin on his attempt to raise some money for Artists for Peace and Justice will provide one fan with a huge opportunity to spend time with the Real Madrid star and even attend the El Clasico.

The charitable organisation founded in 2009 supports Haitian communities by conducting workshops in education, dignity and health care through the arts. It is an initiative that is supported by other major celebrities like Bill Clinton, Lady Gaga and John Legend.

Ronaldo released a video on his social media accounts detailing the prize for the winner and the process by which individuals can part-take in the competition to win the chance to spend time with the footballer. It includes a pre-match meal, signing autographs with the Portuguese captain’s fans, helping him decide what haircut to choose and, of course, an opportunity to see him play live against Barcelona in the El Clasico as a VIP guest.

The competition requires the participants to donate a minimum of $10 to Artists for Peace and Justice, for the development of a school, and for every $100 raised, a year of sports practice can be arranged for the education of Haitian children. In addition, it allows for bigger donations that will fetch those who enter to win memorabilia signed by Ronaldo or limited edition merchandise for the cause.

Ranging from limited edition t-shirts for $100 to signed footballs and shoes for $20,000 and $10,000 respectively, the competition has a number of little prizes to be won apart from the biggest of them all. It will run for little more than a month and 14 days from now and at the end of it lies the chance that many football fans only dream of.
