David Beckham made a special appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s new show Knock Knock Live, which features celebrities surprising deserved families with a home visit and gifts. The retired footballer and Miami MLS franchise owner was in California and took a trip to Mr Gonzalez’s house, who gave up his football career and is now working in a construction job to support his family.
The family members were all in utter disbelief when Beckham turned up at their doorstep, and couldn’t hide their excitement at the prospect of meeting one of the most popular players.
The Manchester United legend handed over seven iPhones to the members and assured them that their bills would be paid for the next 10 years.
His generosity didn’t end there as he handed over a cheque for $100,000 to Mrs Gonzalez, which saw a very emotional scene take place. He commended everyone on their hard work, and followed it up with a session of football with them.
