It isn’t very often that the most expensive player in the World is not loved by the fans of the team that own him. However, the exact same thing is happening at the Bernabeu as Gareth Bale has once again failed to endear himself to the Madridistas.
In a match against Real Sociedad, Gareth Bale missed a sitter when scoring was the easier option with the score 2-1 in favour of the home team. He was set up by Karim Benzema and it looked like the Welshman would easily increase Madrid’s lead as the goalkeeper was stranded. However, Bale hit his shot wide when he had just 1 defender between him and the goal and James Rodriguez beside him for help.
James was seen shaking his head after the miss. Fortunately, for Bale, his miss didn’t prove costly as Madrid went on to win the match 4-1.
The former Tottenham winger had earlier frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo by not passing the ball and Madrid fans criticized Bale for being selfish.
Despite scoring 36 goals and providing 26 assists in 72 matches for Los Blancos, Bale still hasn’t been able to win the hearts of the fans, who voice their displeasure openly at any mistake made by him.
