Rooney celebrates against Scotland

England captain Wayne Rooney scored his 45th and 46th goals against Scotland to get himself to 3rd on England’s all-time goalscorers list. Only Gary Lineker and Bobby Charlton have scored more goals for England than the Manchester United captain. After scoring his second, he did a cartwheel celebration that looks really really goo in slow-motion.

However, there is more to it than that. The 29-year-old had also scored for England in an U-16 tournament called The Victory Shield 14 years ago against Scotland. And guess what, he had done the same. 14 years later, the player’s age has increased and so has his passion for the game.

Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring for England. Wayne Rooney doubled the lead with a header when the Scottish defence failed to clear the ball. Six players combined to help the away side score their third with Adam Lallana assisting the captain this time.
