Why Manchester United's dressing room DJ Ashley Young is allowed to play only funky house music

Louis van Gaal’s love for house music enforced in the Manchester United dressing room

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has permitted Ashley Young to only play funky house music in the dressing room. Ashley Young was recently promoted as the head DJ of the dressing room after the departure of Patrice Evra.

On MUTV’s Thursday Focus, Young revealed his manager’s music preference, saying, "I've been told by the manager I can only play funky house or house music. Seriously that's what he likes. That's what's on the playlist.”

If you don’t know what funky house music is, here is a quick description from Wikipedia - ‘funky house is a subgenre of house music that uses funk samples, a funk-inspired bass line or a strong soul influence, combined with drum breaks that draw inspiration from 1970s and 1980s funk records.’

So if Young wants to remain the team DJ, all he has to do is play house music, and United fans can only hope that they win a title or two in the near future so they get to see the Dutchman celebrate by enjoying some house music.

Here is a video of the Dutchman grooving to some funky house beats:
