DiRT 3 Removal From Games for Windows Live "In Progress"

DiRT 3’s migration from GFWL to Steamworks is in progress

Codemasters had previously suggested about moving the rally racer from Games for Windows Live to Steamworks. Earlier it was reported that Dark Souls have successfully migrated from GFWL to Steamworks and there aren't many non-Microsoft games left still using this service.

PC Gamer reports that they were told from the studio that the removal of the game from Games for Windows Live is “in progress” and were unable to give the exact date of this migration.

Meanwhile, DiRT 2, won't be so lucky, as this game was removed from stores earlier in the year, and, from the sounds of things, it won't be coming back. Still, for rally fans, the continued promise of a new working version of an excellent racing game should be welcome, even it's taking so long.

Hopefully, the Steamworks release will also prompt the game developers, Codemasters to release the game's DLC, all of which were lost with the closure of the Games for Windows Marketplace.
