6-time world champ ends up 6 digit mobile bill!

Pokemon GO has got everyone addicted to it and Japanese Gymnast, Kohei Uchimura is no different. The Olympian who’s currently training in Rio and catching a few Pokemon’s here and there.

Little did he know what was to happen when the phone bill came!

Uchimura was stunned to receive a 500,000 yen ($4,954) phone bill after playing the game on mobile data while on roaming! Kyodo news agency reported this hilarious news on Tuesday and it’s left the Gymnast red-faced.

Speaking to Kyodo, Kohei Ucimura’s teammate, Kenzo Shirai said "He looked dead at the team meal that day!".

His Japanese mobile network service understood the situation and have agreed to reduce his bill. They have now given the Gymnast a daily use package of 3,000 yen (around $30) and waive the extra cost. Now it looks like he’ll be around 90,000 yen instead of 500,000 yen!

When asked about his reaction on seeing the mobile bill, "I really lucked out!" said the reigning gold medalist in the men's all-around competition. Uchimura has assured that he is committed to win a gold medal for Japan in Rio 2016.

Pokemon GO has not been officially launched in Brazil yet and many other athletes have complained about it. As Kohei is hailing from Japan, he might have the official app installed and might be able to catch the Pokemon’s as the others keep waiting.

Niantic have confirmed that they will be launching the app very soon in Brazil, especially after the complaints they received from Rio 2016 Olympians
