China and Mexico have signed an agreement to expand sports cooperation between the two countries.

Castillo Cervantes, Director General of Mexico's National Commission of Physical Culture and Sport (Conade), and Jin Huasheng, the head of the human resource development center at China's General Administration of Sport, on Saturday signed the collaboration agreement and the Mexico-China sporting activities programme in Mexico City, reports Xinhua.

Ma Jin, the Chinese coach behind Mexico's success in diving, attended the signing ceremony.

Ma, who arrived in Mexico in 2003, has led Mexican diver Paola Espinosa to two Olympic medals -- bronze at Beijing 2008 and silver at London 2012.
