Spree 2013, the annual sports festival of BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus was a four day long exhibition of sport, played at its exhilarating best. ‘Play to Inspire’ was the driving essence of Spree 2013, and the fest was indeed successful in bringing sport to the forefront, and inspiring one and all through the spirit of sport.

The main events of Spree which included Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Tennis among others attracted terrific participation and were great crowd pullers as ever. With state of the art facilities including a BCCI maintained cricket ground and a football pitch maintained by Salgaocar FC, BITS Goa was perfectly equipped to hold a festival of the magnitude of Spree. Changing times call for changing measures, and Spree has kept up with the latest evolutions in sport. A variety of special events and offbeat events such as Futsal, KhoKho, 3v3 volleyball and Anti-Chess to name a few, were introduced at Spree 2013, and were tremendously successful.

The Special Nights were another great success story of Spree 2013. Entertainers like Shalmali Kholgade and Benny Dayal lit up the stage and wowed audiences with their dazzling performances. Aagman, an upcoming Indian band also kept everyone entertained with their music.

Spree has also maintained service to the community as a part of its responsibility, by actively supporting a variety of social causes over the years. This was highlighted by the ‘Act to Inspire Campaign’ launched by Spree 2013. As a part of this campaign, Spree associated with the NGO Special Olympics Bharat, and organized a number of initiatives such as a Beach Cleanup Drive as well as partnering with the Spree Goa Half Marathon.

Already established as one of the biggest sports festivals in the country, this edition of Spree saw more success and participation than ever before, and has helped Spree to further enhance and enrich its reputation.
