A 20-year-old man was found dead in the swimming pool of an elite golf club in Delhi under mysterious circumstances. The deceased has been identified as Rahul Soni, who worked as a cook in the club.
Rahul’s body was discovered by the security staff on Monday night when they were carrying out routine inspection of the premises. The Delhi police have registered an FIR under section 304A of IPC which implies death due to negligence.
The preliminary investigations carried out by the police reveal that Rahul did not know how to swim. However, the police have issued a notice to the Delhi golf club asking them to produce CCTV footage along with a list of people who visited the club over the course of the last month.
The club defended itself saying necessary precautions were put in place and the swimming pool has been functional for the past 15 years.
