India's Golfing wonderkid Shubham Jaglan clinches European Junior Championship

Young Shubham’s talent has been turning heads across the golfing arena for a while now

A zealous campaign that found its emergence in some tutorial videos on YouTube is now thunderously operational – such is the story of India’s golf prodigy Shubham Jaglan, who has just clinched his maiden European Junior Championship held at the Craigielaw Golf Club in Longniddry, Scotland.

For the 2015 Junior World Champion who was the runner-up at the same event last year, however, this title isn’t the only achievement to be thrilled at. The 11-year-old has also successfully decimated any competition whatsoever by emerging victorious with a staggering margin of 13 strokes. In such closely-contested meets where more often, a shot or two seals the ultimate fate of the top placeholders, Shubham’s feat is truly sensational, to say the least.

All throughout the three-day stretch of the tournament, the Haryanvi boy didn’t concede the lead that he had gained over his rivals in the initial stages at Longniddry. With individual scores of 69-71-66, Shubham finished with a total of nine-under 207 after 18 holes on Friday.

More heartening is the fact that this commendable victory also puts the young Indian right on course for even greater glory at the upcoming Junior World Championship this year.
