"I felt pretty good out there" - Nelly Korda hopes to chase Chevron Championship leader Atthaya Thitikul for record-setting LPGA Tour wins

Nelly Korda during the Chevron Championship - Round Three

Nelly Korda has said that although she played well on the rain-affected third day of the Chevron Championship, she could have been a little aggressive.

The third round of the Chevron Championship was severely affected by the rain which resulted in early suspension of the play. As a result, 33 players including Korda, weren't able to complete their 18 holes of the day. Before the play was called off, Korda was at 3-under for the round after 11 holes. She is tied with Brooke Henderson at 10-under, one stroke behind Atthaya Thitikul.

During the post-round interview, Korda reflected on her day at the Carlton Woods.

"I had a bogey-free 3-under on the front nine. I had probably a three- or four-footer for par on the hole that I didn't finish, but overall I feel like I played pretty good," she said. "The greens are a little softer than maybe days prior, so I could be a little bit more aggressive, but overall I felt pretty good out there."

Nelly Korda is chasing her fifth title in as many starts on the LPGA Tour. She entered the Chevron Championship after winning the LPGA Drive On Championship, Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, Ford Championship, and T-Mobile Match Play. If she wins this week, she will join Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam to achieve a five-peat on the LPGA Tour.

While Nelly Korda is seeking her fifth straight title, Henderson was the highlight of the day as she shot a low 8-under and still had one hole to play. She made seven birdies, and one eagle before bogeying the par 4, 16th. The 36-hole joint leader Jin Hee was 1-under on Saturday after playing 11 holes and slipped to fourth when the play was suspended.
