Aizawl FC striker Amir Memari has joined Afghanistan Champions League team Attack Energy FC on Thursday (April 18). He moves to the Asian club on a free transfer after his contract with the I-League outfit expired.

Amir Memari joined The People's Club during the January transfer window and played three matches. He received a game time of only 30 minutes across three outings against Delhi FC, Sreenidi Deccan FC, and Shillong Lajong FC. The Iranian striker came off the bench on all three ocassions.

He started his professional career with Fajr Under-21 in July 2014. Since then, he has played for multiple clubs including Shahrdari Yasuj, Khayr Vahdat, Panjshir, FC Dushanbe, Khalij Fars, Qala Diza, Biss Buru SC, Stallion Laguna, Persipa, and Aizawl FC.

The Iranian center-forward is the third signing of the day for Attack Energy FC. They have roped in the services of Iranian defender Behnam Habibi from Perserang and Nigerian winger Ikechukwu Okorie.

Ikechukwu Okorie has played for Turkish clubs Dogantepespor, Maltepespor, Cyprus-based club Lefke TSK, and Karlovy Vary from Czech Republic. In his latest stint with Karlovy Vary, the 25-year-old has scored a goal and assisted once in nine appearances. He played a total of 725 minutes for the club.

Behnam Habibi, on the other hand, has played for multiple clubs since his debut in 2009. He's represented Hepco Arak FC, Hamyari Arak, Shahrdari Arak, Alu. Novin Arak, Manisa Sanayi, Binatli YSK, Chamchuri United FC, Bangladesh Police, and Perserang.

He played a total of 765 minutes across nine matches for Perserang in the 2023 edition of the competition.


Aizawl FC's last two I-League 2023-24 matches were cancelled

Aizawl FC's last two I-League 2023-24 matches agaisnt TRAU FC and NEROCA FC were cancelled as the two clubs denied travelling to Mizoram, citing security concerns. However, the Mizoram-based denied any security issues in the city.
