United Singhs register second consecutive victory in World Kabaddi League

The India-leg of the inaugural Wave World Kabaddi League kicked-off in Delhi with United Singhs registering their second consecutive win by defeating California Eagles 60-54 in the ninth match of the league at the Indira Gandhi indoor stadium.

United Singhs made their position stronger in the league by winning this match by a wide margin of six points.

The first quarter kick started with much enthusiasm and excitement where both the teams showed resilience and aggression in the initial moments.

United Singhs started gaining momentum as the time flowed by stopping the raiders of California Eagles, thereby widening the points tally to four over the Eagles.

Baljeet Singh and Balkar Singh of United Singhs were the rising stars for the first half showing aggression and command over the raiders from the opponent teams by defying then points at couple of raids by California Eagles.

The result ended on a winning streak for the United Singhs with a points tally of 12-16.

United Singhs continued to firm up their position in the second quarter of the match and kept scoring points the quarter. Ravi Kumar from United Singhs did good raids and scored points for the team, although raiders like Baldev Singh Brar and Hoshiar Singh from California Eagles played well and tried to do the same.

In one of the raids made by California Eagles, stopper Gurbinder Singh made an excellent stop and scored points for the team.

By the end of the second quarter, the point tally was 28-30, making the position of the United Singhs strong in the match.

The third quarter started with a good fight between both the teams. Both the team looked positive and gave a neck to neck fight against each others. It was a tough quarter and there was a marginal difference of four points till the mid of the third quarter.

Baljeet and Ravi Kumar was the star raider for this quarter from United Singh. Post the final raid of the third quarter the United Singhs were leading with five points with 45-40 points on the scoreboard.

The final quarter ended with much exuberance with both the teams trying to get a lead over the other.

The last quarter was witness to some desperate attempts made by Californian Eagles to narrow down the gap in the points tally, but the United Singhs were invincible showing their aggression to maintain the lead till the end.
