MMA News: Frans Mlambo scheduled for BRAVE - The Beginning

Frans Mlambo

Frans Mlambo is KHK MMA’s Black Mamba and he certainly has a lethal bite. In his professional debut he fought in front of a partisan Dublin crowd and literally looked like he was from another planet to the hapless Darren O’Gorman, who had been hyped coming into the fight and was undefeated.

The moment Mlambo put his hands on him, it visibly shook the man from Cork. Such was the lightning speed and deadly accuracy of Mlambo, who arrived onto the big stage with a thunderous bang, but anyone who knew MMA wasn’t surprised.

The Black Mamba had just won a gold medal in the IMMAF World Championships and he proved in that competition, against the world’s elite prospects, that he can grind as well as bang, if the situation dictates.

Mlambo found it hard to get a fight, perhaps because of his amateur pedigree, so he went to Tokyo to compete against undefeated Chinese grappler Changxin Fu. Mlambo came up short in this learning experience.

He picked himself right back up and destroyed another undefeated prospect, Luke Ord, on his home turf. Having rocked the Englishman with his serpent like arms he soon delivered the telling shot again, which buckled the knees and signaled the end.

He has that fight ending shot in his arsenal and all fighters must be wary of it. What else can we expect from Mlambo in Brave apart from his vicious hands?

No one will want to stand with him, and some may look at his only defeat and believe he has vulnerabilities on the ground where Fu finished him. The reality is, Mlambo is training at KHK MMA and hails from SBG Ireland originally; so he’s developing his skills around some of the best coaches and fighters in the world.

Mlambo proved in the amateurs that he’s a winner, and we will only see this boy improve his weaknesses – likely at a very fast rate. When this happens and Mlambo becomes as dangerous on the ground as he is standing, the Black Mamba is going to stake some serious stopping.

Keep your eyes on this boy very closely; he’s 25-years-old, and he’s destined for the top.
