MMA News: Tito Ortiz vs Chael Sonnen at Bellator 170

Two Loud Mouths! But don’t get fooled!

Two of the most legendary trash talkers in MMA that have gained nothing but attention and applause from the fans are set to face each other. Chael Sonnen will make his comeback to MMA in Bellator FC where he will face former UFC Lightheavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz.

The match will take place in January 2017 at Bellator 170 in The Forum Arena, Las Vegas.

Tito Ortiz failed to capture the Bellator FC Lightheavyweight Championship after he was finished by the champ Liam McGeary. Whereas ‘The American Gangster’ is making his way back to the cage after two years of suspension.

At the age of 39, Sonnen feels confident of performing his best, and making a quick finish of the ‘Huntington Beach Bad Boy’. It was announced on September 15th this year that Sonnen has shook hands with Scott Coker to sign a new multi-fight deal with Bellator FC, according to Mmafighting.com.

One can only expect a money generating pay-per-view as both the fighters draw a lot of eyeballs when they are on the mic or are demolishing their opponents in the cage. Sonnen is regarded one of the best trash talkers in the history of combat sports.

He almost talked his way into securing a title fight against Anderson Silva only to suffer a one-sided loss, he then immediately gained a title fight against the then champion Jon Jones. Both fights picked up a considerable measure of viewers as he had convinced the fans of a must-see performance.

Tito Ortiz was one of the early stars in the UFC who defended the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship five times. Ortiz is not new to controversies. He is known for his feuds with Chuck Liddell, Ken Shamrock, Randy Couture and also the UFC President Dana White.

The Bellator 170 card may produce some pay-per-view numbers similar to the UFC, despite the company’s approach of signing fighters out of their prime. Regardless of what happens, however, competition is always good and we’re looking forward to the event.
